Search Console analytics

Google Search Console data next to your web analytics, free

Totallytics connects Google Search Console free: 16 months backfilled, refreshed every 6 hours, with clicks, impressions, CTR and position by query, page, country and device next to your pageviews, kept after Google's 16-month window. No cookies, no credit card.

What you get

Search Console answers "which Google searches found this site"; your analytics answers "what did those visitors do". Totallytics puts both in one dashboard: a Search tab with queries, pages, countries and devices, each with clicks, impressions, CTR and average position, next to the pageviews, referrers and goals you already have. Position and CTR are impression-weighted, like in Google's own report.

A search box of up to 256 characters filters the rows, and any query or page can be used as a drill-down filter, one at a time. Page rows merge the protocol, fragment and query-string variants of a URL that Google reports separately. Google hides rare queries for privacy; the dashboard shows how many clicks and impressions fall into that anonymized gap so the totals still add up.

16 months back, every 6 hours forward

On connect, Totallytics walks back month by month through the 16 months Google keeps and stores every row. Then it refreshes every 6 hours, rewriting the trailing 10 days so Google's fresh but still-changing last 2 to 3 days settle on their own. A manual sync button resumes a backfill or queues a refresh.

The rows stay in Totallytics after Google drops them, so a post published two years ago keeps its query history instead of falling off a 16-month cliff.

Private to the owner

Search Console data never appears on public dashboards and cannot be read with a management key. Only the owner of the site sees it, even when the rest of the dashboard is shared. The connection is a browser-driven Google sign-in with read access to Search Console; one Google connection serves every site in your account, and reconnecting updates all of them.

Searches versus AI referrals

Clicks from Google AI Overviews and AI Mode arrive with a google.com referrer and are folded into Google's search data, in Search Console and here. Visitors from ChatGPT are different: OpenAI tags its links with utm_source=chatgpt.com, so they show up as their own source in the referrer table. How that works is on the AI traffic analytics page.

Set it up

Sign in with Google, add your domain and paste the tracking script into your HTML:

<script
  async
  src="https://totallytics.com/latest.js"
  data-hostname="example.com"
  data-verify="YOUR_SITE_VERIFY_TOKEN"
></script>

After the first pageview verifies the site, open its settings, choose Integrations, connect Google Search Console and pick the property. Domain properties (sc-domain:) and URL-prefix properties both work. The API side is in the Search Console docs.

FAQ

Do I need to verify the site in Google Search Console first?

Yes. Totallytics reads the properties your Google account already has access to; it does not create or verify properties for you.

Does this replace Google Search Console?

No. It is the same data, read through Google's API, shown next to your pageviews and kept longer than 16 months. Index coverage, sitemaps and manual actions stay in Search Console.

Can I export the search data?

The owner can read it as JSON over the API with their sign-in token, 100 rows per request by default and up to 500.

Does Totallytics set cookies?

No. The 4 KB tracking script sets no cookies and uses no local storage, and IP addresses are never stored. Analytics data lives in Frankfurt, Germany.
